Privacy Policy
Your privacy is our priority
Last updated: February 2026
The Short Version
We don't want your data. Open Mind is designed to work without collecting personal information. We don't require accounts, we don't track your substance searches, and we don't sell data to anyone.
What We Don't Collect
- Personal identification information (name, email, address)
- Account credentials (no accounts needed)
- Your substance search history
- Your browsing behavior within the app
- Location data
- Device identifiers for tracking
What We Do Collect
We collect minimal, anonymized data to improve the service:
Analytics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used in aggregate. This includes:
- Page views and general traffic patterns
- Device type (mobile, desktop) and browser
- Country-level location (not precise location)
- Referral sources
Google Analytics data is anonymized and we have IP anonymization enabled. We do not enable any advertising features or link this data to individuals.
Error Reporting
If the app crashes, we may receive anonymized crash reports to help fix bugs. These do not contain personal information.
Local Storage
The app stores your preferences (like theme settings and language) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.
Third-Party Services
Our service uses the following third-party providers:
- Firebase/Google Analytics: Usage statistics (Privacy Policy)
- Google Play / Apple App Store: App distribution
- Cloudflare: Content delivery and DDoS protection
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Access any personal data we hold about you (we hold none)
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt-out of analytics tracking
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to delete or provide. To opt out of Google Analytics, you can use a browser extension or enable "Do Not Track" in your browser.
Children's Privacy
Open Mind is intended for adults age 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children. The substance information in our database is educational content for adults.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of Open Mind after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
